I write features and reviews for Scotland’s The List magazine. I’ve been covering dance, circus and cabaret at the Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe for The List since 2010. Some of my favourite interviews have been with Monét X Change, Sasha Velour, Lucy Worsley and Hungarian choreographer Bence Vági.
My favourite companies/choreographers include Angelin Preljocaj, Scottish Ballet, NoFit State Circus, Lost Dog, Pina Bausch, Gandini Juggling (there are many more). Do get in touch (check out the contact page) if you’re a company interested in me coming to review your show.
I have also previously contributed to The Guardian, The Times, Scotland in Trust magazine, the National Trust for Scotland website and guidebook, and provided writing and editing services to the University of Edinburgh’s School of Informatics.
Mentoring
I offer mentoring in all aspects of creative writing craft, and navigating the publishing industry from a writer’s perspective, via The Ruppin Agency Writers’ Studio.
Book Event Chairing
I love chairing book events, and generally chatting books with other readers and writers. Authors whose events I’ve chaired include Lynsey May, Judy Murray, Claire Daverley, Graeme Macrae Burnet and Elissa Soave.
